Ben Affleck has signed on to play the lead in Warner Bros.' Nathan Decker , says a story at The Hollywood Reporter . Scripted by Dan Fogelman, the project is said to be a political comedy that initially was going to have Tom Cruise in the lead.
Fogelman most recently scripted Crazy, Stupid, Love. and has, in the past, worked on family-friendly fare like Cars , Bolt and Tangled .
Affleck's next -- both as a star and as a director -- is the period drama, Argo . He's also attached to direct Warner Bros.' big-screen version of Stephen King's The Stand .
